BASTUM LAMP

Bastum lamp has been conceived as as a pure tube of light.
The metal frame is reduced to a minimum so that the purity of this precious glass and its intense colours are the only protagonists. Mouth-blown in Murano island by an expert Murano master, the lamp is made up of a thin internal layer of coloured glass covered by a thick layer of transparent muranese crystal. This external surface, when still extremely hot, is texturized through the passage on a specially designed cast iron plate. When the lamp is on, the irregular texture produces reflections and shadows that extremely enrich the visual impact. The internal tubular LED is fixed to the two ends by two round aluminium plates. The thread is covered in fabric and its colour can be changed on request.

Lenght: 36 cm
Diameter: irregular 7,5 / 8 cm

CROSSOVERS EXHIBITION – LONDON DESIGN FAIR 19

Bastum Lamp is part of the Italian Collection curated by Mr Lawrence (aka Annalisa Rosso e Francesco Mainardi) for Adorno, the curated digital gallery for contemporary collectible design.

The italian collection, intitled “Milanese Interiors”, is a reflection on the current condition of contemporary design in Italy.

“The approach of contemporary Italian designers goes beyond one single object, the skope takes in consideration context, the past, all possible references; this vision must, as well, be a new domesticity”.
